Wondo Genet near Shasheme
The first weekend of march was a long weekend. Friday was a holiday, the "Victory of Adwa" (111 years ago the Ethiopians had thrown out the italians, for the first time). So our idea was to make a trip to the south, visit the forest in Wondo Genet, enjoying a bath in the hot springs there, then travel to Awassa and at the way back to Addis Ababa pass through the "Abiyata-Shala-National-Park" to watch the nice pink Flamingos in the salt lake.

Here the forest with the soak of the hot springs:

We met some other well-known Germans (with exception of Asrat), so we had maden the walk together with them in the morning:

Fotos of our bath in the hot spring water (a nice pool) trap under the sensorship for minors. However, on saturday we have continoued our journey. After the walk in the forest and a final bath again in the hot springs we left to Shasheme. There we had lunch and had a strange spectator.

This is one of my first free living monkeys I saw in my life !

This is the car of Asrat. He is tour guide and he earn his money with tourists. But in this case he spent his holidays with his girlfriend Esther and us. His car is amazing, 4,2 liters cubic capacity, the biggest 4x4 you can imaging, flying over the gravel roads ...
